A trio of LCHS runners captured finishes at the West Virginia State Track Meet October 31.

Sophomore Emily Louk finished in the Top Ten for the second-straight year.  Louk finished 8th at the state track meet, setting a personal and school record at 19:14.

Her teammate Brooke Bennett finished 44 out 95 runners.  It was Bennett’s first tournament appearance.  Bennett set a personal best time at 21:14.

Louk’s brother, Nate, also competed at the tournament finishing in the top half of the competition field. Louk completed his senior season as Lewis County’s first four-year letterman with eight top Top Ten finishes, two-time all Big Ten conference honors and two-time qualifier for the state meet.

Nate Louk now owns the school cross country record set at 17:46.

In both fields, there were approximately 100 runners.

Cross country is the newest sport to be offered at LCHS.  The team is coached by Master Sergeant Bill Linger.
