Minuteman Farms Selling Homemade Soap

Minuteman Farms Selling Homemade Soap

Faith Messenger, Staff Reporter/Photographer

Makin’ money.  LCHS’s very own simulated workplace, Minuteman Farms, is starting to turn a profit after their initial purchase of two dairy goats.

Minuteman Farms’ students are making different scented soaps which are for sale in the school and community.

Last Fall, Lewis County High School’s Minuteman Farms purchased two dairy goats, Karma and Ivy. Two students, Cayli Champ and Eliza Weber, then learned from Joyce Collins how to make their own homemade soap. This year, Zoe Davis and Faith Messenger are the two production managers.

They’re great for stocking stuffers or little gift bags.

They have made Oats & Honey and Lavender; they just recently tried a rose-scented soap. The soap contains coconut oil, olive oil, lye and frozen goat milk. They are hoping to try lotion and maybe chap stick. The bars can be purchased in 2×3″ or 1.75″x 1.75″.

Minuteman Farms is under the direction of Mrs. Diana Garrett.

The bars are for sale in Garrett’s room, 1079, or for more information, email  [email protected].
