Senior Sermon Conducted May 24

The 19th Annual LCHS Senior Sermon was conducted Wed., May 24, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

The non-denominational sermon was free and open to the public. Seniors and their friends and families were encouraged to attend the annual event. The Sermon included live music by the LCHS Cassettes, student testimonies and a reception including refreshments following the event.

YOUth Alive members organized and coordinated the event. Members planned this year’s event for the past month. According to YOUth Alive members, the theme for this evening’s message was “This is your life; live it well!”

Seniors, family members, friends and faculty members attended more-than-one-hour annual event.

Unlike past years, one of LCHS’s own was the event’s keynote speaker. Senior Ian Young, of Weston, plans to continue his education at West Virginia University majoring in Finance.

Young is a member of Broad Run Baptist Church. As a student of LCHS, Young is also a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Collicola, Channel 3 and the Ultimate Frisbee Club. As an athlete at LCHS, Young participated in basketball, soccer and cross country.

Following the sermon, the Gideons International members provided free Bibles to anyone who wanted to take one.

The YOUth Alive club is under the faculty supervision of Mrs. Barbara Spaur and Mrs. Cheryl Smith.
