Boys’ basketball heads into the last games of the season coming off a sound win and loss against Clay County High School and Woodrow Wilson High Schools, respectively.

Players said they are, again, hopeful for a successful post-season Sectional tournament performance.

LCHS defeated Clay, Nicholas, and Hoover; they lost to Braxton County in overtime. Players said they hope to clinch a top seed and ultimately a home game for the sectional tournament.

The boys’ basketball team opened its season fresh off a state tournament berth and a Regional championship as they play in the Mussleman Tip-Off Classic in the Eastern Panhandle.

The team had several games that were decided in the last seconds of the game.

Returning senior lettermen for the Minutemen are Asa Post, Kyle Gannon, Jacob Carder and Nic Kuhn.

The head coach is Charles Simms and assistant coaches are Bill Linger and Joe Nichols.
