Minutemen stand 1-1

The boys basketball team is even on the season splitting their record for 1-1 in the first two games.

The boys’ basketball team lost to Buckhannon Dec. 2 62-56. The team was paced by the off-bench scoring by Kyle Gannon who had 18, followed by Bradley Smith with 11, Luke White with 11, Asa Post with 8, Shawn Moran with 5 and Caden Rohrbough and Jacob Heater both with with 2.

JVs lost 58-52 as well.

The Minutemen won against Liberty 68-61. The Minutemen kept a two digit lead most of the game with the scoring margin decreasing down the stretch.  The JV team also soundly won.

The Minutemen will face state-ranked Fairmont Senior Dec. 13 followed by the WVFCA Tournament Dec. 15 in Kanawha County.

The home-opener will be Dec. 18 against Preston County.

Head coach is Mr. Charles Simms, and Msgt. Bill Linger is the assistant coach.

The Freshman Boys’ Basketball team will start its season next week.  They are coached by Mr. Joe Nichols.
