Lewis County High School’s Youth Alive! group has kept very busy giving back to their community the past few months. They started by selecting their 2017-18 officers:

  • President- Kaytely Carpenter
  • Vice President- Miranda Gettings
  • Secretary- Sarah Post
  • Treasurer- Faith Messenger
  • Photographers- Abigail Conrad

In October, a few members spent their Sunday handing out cupcakes to the community at Walmart for the National Right To  Life Committee, which is the oldest and the largest national pro-life organization located in the Unites States.

The week before Thanksgiving, the group, along with the help of the school, was able to collect enough donations to send 26 shoe boxes to countries over-seas.

The group adopted an angel off the Angel Tree for Christmas together. They were able to collect new shoes, clothes, toys and other helpful items that made the little boys very happy.  Members cut out and stapled enough candy canes to hand out to the entire school to get into the Christmas Spirit, which was delayed due to not having school.

They have decided make and sell chocolate covered pretzel sticks for a fundraiser in the near future. The group have decided to donated their time by helping at Our Neighbor sorting all the donations they receive. They will also be making Blessing Bags to give to soldiers and mothers.

With graduation approaching, they will be holding their annual Senior Sermon.
