The 2017-18 Cheerleading Squad is headed to the WV State AA Cheerleading Tournament at the Charleston Civic Center Saturday, December 9.

The squad comprised of students in grades 9-12 will feature 13 students competing in both the floor cheer and dance.

LCHS earned its state tourney berth by capturing the runner-up position at Regionals at Robert C. Byrd Nov. 4

They then competed at the Big 10 Cheer Competion Nov. 8 where they also finished runner-up.

The cheerleaders are slated to perform during the 10 a.m. session.  They are slated to go sixth in a field of eight teams.

The team is coached by Mrs. Beth Nichols, Mrs. Tiffany Litton, Ms. Catie Nichols and Mrs. Allison Rogers.

The routine features tumbling, jumps, stunts and dance while the floor cheer is the traditional cheer.

The full squad includes:  Seniors Claire Moneypenny, Alexis Hollen, Sidney Golden, Braylen Hughes, Haley Hartley, Abby Watson; Juniors: Sarah Goldsmith, Hannah Detamore, Sophomores: Taylor McDougal, Jaydin Lipps, Abby Hall, Allison Andrews; Freshmen Taylor Boggs, Kaylin Pasquale, Tenley Bragg, Cassie Wright, Kaylee Zielinski and McKenzie Gifford.
