Happy 50th Birthday LCHS! Fall of 1965- Fa;; 2015

1/2 Century, 5 decades, 2 score and ten years.  Say it however you want, LCHS is 50 years old this year.

Yes, Lewis County High School is celebrating 50 years of education in the county during the 2015-16 school year.

As a consolidated high school of Weston, Jane Lew and Walkersville High Schools, LCHS opened its doors in the Fall of 1965.

In recognition of this golden milestone, LCHS faculty and students are incorporating the theme of “50” and “Gold” in curricular and extracurricular activities.  Students were greeted with the digital marquis sign and the student recognition wall telling students to “Stay golden, my friends.”  Student Council members recognized the 50th Celebration with “Gold Day” and had several alumni from various decades recognized during the Homecoming parade.

The Class of 2016 will be the 50th Graduating Class of LCHS and The Blue & Grey newspaper is in its 50th Volume.

Though it is not technically the anniversary, LCHS is celebrating 50 years of all things Blue & Grey.  The true anniversary comes at the end of the year.
