For the first time in school history, the LCHS Leadership team is applying for nearly $300,000 in grant funds for the next three years.

The focal point of the grant is to reduce the number of students dropping out of school.  The team worked with a number of school and community resources to to research the most effective ways to keep students graduating.

Leadership members worked closely with Mrs. Deanna Palmer (Family Resource Network), Dr. John Taylor (Glenville State College Drop-Out Research Specialist), Dr. Carol Williams (Director of Special Education), and RESA VII Graduation Specialists.  They also worked with school administrators and guidance counselors.

Applications are due October 1.  LCHS should know within a few weeks if they were awarded the grant.

The Leadership Team presented its request to the Lewis County Board of Education September 23.
