Newest Addition to LCHS

The latest addition to the LCHS ‘family’ is in the form of two pregnant goats.

Karma and Ivy are the two goats acquired by Mrs. Dianna Garrett and her FFA students.  The goats are part of the Animal Production Management class, which is now a part of the simulated workplace.

Karma is due at the end of February and Ivy at the end March. Students are going to milk the goats and use the goats’ milk to make soap.

Students said they all agreed to try the goat milk even though most have never tried it before.

Students Cayli Champ and Eliza Weber had a hands-on experience with making soap. They learned how to make soap from Mrs. Joyce Collins, owner of Nana’s Gingerbread House.

The class members agreed to take caretaking shifts on weekends and snow days.
