Minutemaids Softball Wrap-Up

For the first time in eight years, the Minutemaid Softball team brought home a Sectional Championship.

The ‘Maids defeated BU in the best of three games to capture the sectional title. The ‘Maids traveled to Buckhannon-Upshur May 4 to play their first sectional game and fell short of a win with a final score of 4-13. The Minutemaids then battled back on their home field May 6 to play their second sectional game and won 10-2. They then traveled to Buckhannon-Upshur May 7 to finish the three game series with a win 8-2.

The Minutemaid Softball team finished its regular season with a record of 9-14. They finished fourth in the Big 10 Conference behind North Marion, Bridgeport and Liberty.

The Minutemaids traveled to Elkins May 12, 2016 to play the regional semifinal game. The Maids managed to shut down Elkins for 6 innings entering the 7th inning with a 5-0 lead, but Elkins then put 5 on the board. The game ended in the 9th inning when the Maids scored one more run and held Elkins to end the game with a win 6-5.

The team traveled to Musselman High School  Thursday, May 19 to play the regional final game and fell short of a win with a final score of 1-9.
