On the Move!

Seven senior vocational students joined forces with community and education agencies to bring agriculture alive to elementary students in western Lewis County and Gilmer County.

FFA members Savannah Metheny, Samantha Osborne, Torie Riffle and Marissa Johnston along with the Careers in Education students Taylor McClain, Allison Atchison and Kaitlin Corbitt spent the week at Leading Creek Elementary assisting with the Farm Bureau Ag Mobile Lab.

Students said it was a “great opportunity” to work with younger kids and help promote the importance of agriculture.

The effort was coordinated by Mrs. Diana Garrett, vocational teacher, and Mrs. Sherrie McPherson, Careers in Education, teacher.
