Business Department members are coordinating a supply and fund-raiser to benefit the Upshur County Humane Society throughout April.

The LCHS Business Completers will be hosting a school and community fundraiser for the Upshur County Humane Society, which serves both Lewis and Upshur.

“A hotdog eating contest will kick-off the month-long event on April 1st.  Each class may enter contestants during both lunches and Battle of the Minuteman Musket points will be awarded to the winning class,” Priscilla Suan, business teacher, said.

In addition, collection boxes for each class will be in the school cafeteria for the month of April and will be included in the contest for Battle of the Minuteman Musket points.

Additionally, the LCHS Business Completers will sponsor a “Doggy Day” at the Lewis County Park on Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their pets.

Admission to this event is an item from the supply list or a monetary donation.

A hotdog lunch will be available and will include hot dogs, chips, homemade baked goods and drinks. In addition, homemade dog treats will be available for sale. Activities include: a pet owner look-alike contest; scavenger/treat hunt for dogs; face painting; and children’s games. A hotdog-eating contest will be at noon.

All donations are greatly appreciated.
