Cadets are learning about aviation using a newly acquired QuadCopter.

Teams are picked and practice underway as spring sports take front and center stage with the completion of wresting and basketball season.

Athletes started try-outs Feb. 29 with practices in full swing by week’s end.

A balanced group of students make up softball, boys’/girls’ tennis, boys’/girls’ track and baseball.

Coaches said they were “pleased” with the early turn-out and are “hopeful” for the upcoming season.

Record-breaking warm weather during the second week are allowing many teams to get outside for practices.

Coaches said that outside practice time on the fields, track and courts is important for getting real game-time practice.

Coaching changes headlined the pre-season with new coaches for boys’ track. Mrs. Sherry Carr will take over as both boys’ and girls’ head track coach following the departure of boys’ coach, Mr. Eddie Vincent.

Some changes and additions of assistant coaches also occurred in softball and baseball.
