As the 2021-2022 school year comes to an end, the LCHS Senior Class of 2022 celebrates the milestone of graduating Friday, May 27 at 7:00 P.M.

127 graduates are slated to cross the stage in the 56th Commencement.

Graduates will enter to Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance”. Graduates will be greeted by class officers, administrators and distinguished guests.

The class valedictorian is the class valedictorian is Claire Lattea, and the salutatorian is Cameron Ross. Both will address their class members during the ceremony

Students, faculty and staff bid farewell to the Class of 2022 and expressed their best wishes for their next steps in life.

“They are such a very sweet class,” Mrs. Janet Cutright, teacher, said.

For the past two years, graduation has looked very different.

• 2020: The ceremony was set for one graduate at a time to walk across the stage and receive their diploma from a family member of their choice. Determined to give the seniors the very best graduation possible, faculty and administration decorated the gym exactly like a traditional graduation with flowers, stage and even the floor covering. However, except for the graduate and limited family members, the gym was vacant.
• 2021: The 2021 Graduation was conducted outside on the football field for the first time since moving to the new LCHS campus in 1994-95. Tickets were limited and social distancing was recommended.
• 2022: This year, the 2022 Graduation is set to be conducted inside the gymnasium and will be open to anyone wanting to attend. Reserved tickets were available to 4 people per graduate.

“I treasure the four years I got to spend with my little family,” Mrs. Rachael Boone, a senior adviser, said.
